Description of the Plant

An erect armed perennial shrub grows up to 1.5 meters in height. Leaves simple, opposite, ovate-lanceolate and shiny. Thorns arise near to leaf axils. Flowers bright violet red in color, solitary and axillary. Fruits ovate, with woody beak.

Medicinal Properties of the Plant as per Ayurveda

Plant pacifies vitiated vata, pitta, gingivitis, stomatitis, burns, dental caries, inflammations ascites, edema, wounds, nocturnal ejaculation and cracking heel.
