The presiding deity is Bhadrakali, and the goddess faces east. Three poojas are offered in a day, following the Adimattathillam thanthric rites. The epic says that the Devi has come from Chengara of Malayalapuzha. Rakshas, Yakshi, and Maladaivam are sub-deities. The temple festival is celebrated for 10 days starting from Medavishu.
