Kerala Kailas - Chovallur Siva Temple

This Siva temple situates in Chovallur village in Kandanassery panchayat ofThrissur district. 3 kms east to Guruvayoor. The temple is on the top of a huge rock and Sivan and Parvathi are the presiding deities. The sub deities are Ganapathy, Ayyappan and Subramanya. In this temple there is a great fusion of Sivan, Parvathi, Ganapathy and Subramanya and therefore this temple is known as 'Kerala Kailas'. This temple is one of the rare temples where the seven mothers consecrated and adored in Kerala. The main offerings are Udeayasthamana pooja, Ayirothonnu Kudam Dhara, Dhampathi pooja, Ekadasa Rudram Dhara, Mrithyunjayahomam etc.
