This is the second most famous temple in South India and is situated at 65 kilometers closer to Pathanamthitta town. This hill temple is situated at an elevation of 1148.48 meters. The presiding deity is Sastha and is facin~ east. Three poojas are conducted abiding by the Thanthric rites of Thazhmun. Sub- deity is Malikapurathamma who resides at the two storied temple building. Kannimoolaganapathi is installed near to the presiding deity. That apart, Vavaruswamy and Kaduthaswamy is also installed as sub-deities. Mandalapooja and Makar- avilakku are the two main events of the pilgrim season. The temple stays closed during the rest of the year except for the ftrst five days of every Malayalam month and during Vishu.
