The milk and the ghee always occur in the spiritual sciences as symbols, like the Bhagavan who sleeps over the Kshirasagara (the ocean of milk), we all think that the power of god is existing in every human body, therefore every human body can be imagined as a Kshirasagara. The body is filled with caitanya, the energy. If the body is milk, the butter is the energy which is latent in the milk. This energy is the part of god’s power. Therefore, it can be reckoned as God who situates in our body, without revealing, like the god who takes bed over the Kshirasagara. The imagination of the presentation of Lord Vishnu is cleared in this instance. The ghee is poured on the idol of Ayyappa is called Neyyabhisheka, the ghee represent the power of Lord Vishnu. The pouring of water – Jalabhisheka – is considered as Saiva Sakti . The combination of Vaishnava and Saiva powers revealed here in these two kinds of abhishekas.
