There is only one Prathistha, ie of God Sree Ayyappa in the form of a "Kannadi Bimbam"a very rare phenomena among Kerala Temples. No records are now available to determine the origin or the year of construction of the temple, may be constructed during 18th or 19111 century. This temple belongs to the Airoor Kovilakam (also known as Palappetty Kovilakam) separated from the Kodungallor Swaroopam and settled at Palappetty.
