The presiding deity is Lord Shiva and is Swayamboo (autogenous) like all the other Thiruvallor temples and it faces east. Poojas are offered thrice in a day following the Meledathillam thanthric rites. Shasthavu, Ganapathi and Navagrahas as sub deities.
