Thiruvilwamala is very famous for Kshetra Sanketham from ancient days. The sacred river Bharatapuzha and its tributary Gayathri Puzha sanctifies Thiruvilwamala from three sides. Devi Chaithanya is day to day increasing in Parakkottukavu as all the poojas, rituals and rites are done here scientifically, thanthrically and sincerely. Chuttuvilakku is the main offering to Bhagavathy. The Thalapoli, which is conducted on the 2nd Sunday of May every year, is the main festival. Lakhs of people from far and near come to Thiruvilwamala during the festival season.
